Back in March, Nickelodeon had announced that they were going to bring back the popular animated classic Blue’s Clues, but with a “refreshing signature look”. The network has even committed to a 20 episode order.

Deadline is reporting that this reboot was going to titled Blue’s Clues & You and it would be lead by television newcomer and Broadway actor Joshua Dela Cruz. In this show the puppy Blue invites viewers to join her and Dela Cruz on a clue led adventure as well as to solve a daily puzzle. With every signature paw print, Blue identifies a clue that propel the story and inspires viewers to interact with the action.

Blue’s Clues original host Steve Burns helped out with the casting of the new host that started last April in Southern California. This will be Dela Cruz’s television debut as a series regular. Speaking on the casting of Dela Cruz Burns said that, “I had the great honor of being a part of the search for the new host, and I give Josh two thumbs up! He can definitely fill my shoes, and the rugby shirt.”

Before this Dela Cruz had appeared on Disney’s Aladdin on Broadway as the understudy for Aladdin. He has also appeared in David Byrne’s Here Lies Love and Encores!: Merrily We Roll Along. He is repped by Headline Talent Agency.
