Avengers: Doomsday Star James Marsden Says There’s No Hugh Jackman – Not Sure I Believe Him

According to one of Avengers: Doomsday's stars James Marsden, Hugh Jackman's Wolverine is not in the film.

According to one of Avengers: Doomsday‘s stars James Marsden, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine is not in the film. However, judge for yourself, but I’m not sure I believe him on this one. We’ll get to rumors at the end, but for now here is what Marsden said recently when he spoke to ComicBook.com.

“I love Hugh Jackman, and I love the dynamic between Wolverine and Cyclops,” Marsden revealed. “It was always a brotherly, healthy competition between the two of them, where they were annoyed with each other. It did feel like a brotherly relationship. I wouldn’t say that I was excited to slide into that role without him barking in my ear. He was missed. I’m trying to… answer, without saying too much… Yeah, that’s my answer. “

Marsden also spoke to the outlet about how we came back on board to play Cyclops, perhaps for one last time?

“It was a conversation,” Marsden revealed about how he was convinced to return for Avengers: Doomsday. “And in that conversation, we talked about what my involvement would be and everything, but I hadn’t actually read the script yet. So that was something like, yeah, sure, yes, of course.”

Marsden of course was one of the long list of officially confirmed characters for Doomsday before the X-Men teaser showing him in action. For now though, officially Jackman is not involved and neither is Deadpool & Wolverine co star Ryan Reynolds. The Barside Buzz from inside sources sings a different tune though.

Most insiders seem to agree both are in the film. One scooper has even claimed the opening scene involves Jackman’s Wolverine, Deadpool and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man. You’ll find more details if you check our homepage and filter under Marvel.

Yet, though rumors can still be wrong, I have a feeling Marsden is being economical with the truth here. After all, it’s possible his character actually shares no scenes with Jackman’s in Doomsday.

What do you think after James Marsden says there’s no Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in Avengers: Doomsday? Thoughts below.
