Today has been a hell of a day in terms of Disney. They’ve released the current slate of films up through 2027. Nearly a full decade’s worth of mostly-untitled films were revealed to film fans worldwide, but that’s not to say there weren’t some solid titled movies thrown into the mix, including the likes of Call of the Wild, Death on the Nile, and West Side Story. However, one other fun addition to the slate was none other than Bob’s Burgers.
That’s right. A film based on the hit cartoon series on FOX, which is set to hit theaters on July 17, 2020. It’s a series that was created and sort of carries forth the spirit of the earlier seasons of The Simpsons, where there’s plenty of heart in addition to laughs. On the heels of the announcement came a statement from show creator Loren Bouchard.
“We’re thrilled to be invited to bring Bob’s Burgers to the big screen. We know the movie has to scratch every itch the fans of the show have ever had, but it also has to work for all the good people who’ve never seen the show. We also know it has to fill every inch of the screen with the colors and the sounds and the ever so slightly greasy texture of the world of Bob’s – but most of all it has to take our characters on an epic adventure. In other words, it has to be the best movie ever made. But no pressure, right?!”
This is a project fans have known about for a good while now, but it’s the first time we’ve had a solid release date. I guess Disney’s acquisition of Fox was good for something, right? We’re learning a hell of a lot from this list of films alone.
