Bond 25: The Name Of Rami Malek’s Villain Has Been Revealed

At the start of a new decade next year, the 25th Bond film No Time To Die is set to make it’s cinematic debut. Throughout the last few years we have seen our current James Bond, Daniel Craig, come face to face with some great villains. For example, there was Le Chiffre played by Mads Mikkelsen, Raoul Silva played by Javier Bardem and Christoph Waltz as Ernst Stavro Blofeld. With so many great names already having come face to face with Bond, what villain can now step up to the plate to give him a worthy challenge?

Well we know that the actor who has stepped up is Academy Award winner Rami Malek and that prior to taking the role he had a specific demand about his character that had to be met. Now that we are a few months away from the release of the film, we are starting to slowly get details about his character. Let’s start with something simple like his name. According to Empire, the villain played by Malek’s name will be Safin.

Although not a lot of information was given in the article producer on the film Barbara Broccoli said this about Safin, “We’ve thrown the book at him on this one. He is really the supervillain. He’s the one that really gets under Bond’s skin. He’s a nasty piece of work.” As great as an actor as Melek is and as high as the steaks are for Bond I am looking forward to see what this villain has in store for our 007. But as always Bond will have a team to back him up with returning allies like Felix Leiter played by Jeffrey Wright, Q played by Ben Whishaw and Moneypenny played by Naomie Harris, as well as newcomer Lashana Lynch who is playing Nomi.

Here is the synopsis for No Time To Die:
Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

Bond films have always been entertaining and a big part of it has to do with whoever 007 is in a sense playing chess with. With the film being released in April, we are probably going to get a trailer very soon, so stay tuned!

The 25th 007 film No Time To Die directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga is scheduled to hit theaters April 8th, 2020.
