BREAKING: Danny Boyle No Longer Directing Bond 25

It looks like the next James Bond film has hit another speed bump. Months after hopping on board the Bond 25 wagon, it looks like director Danny Boyle has hopped off said wagon, as revealed by a tweet from the official James Bond Twitter account.

Here’s what the tweet said:

“Michael G. Wilson, Barbara Broccoli and Daniel Craig today announced that due to creative differences Danny Boyle has decided to no longer direct Bond 25.”

Needless to say, this kind of sucks for James Bond, but it isn’t really the end of the world. From what we’ve known in the past, Boyle had come on along with another screenwriter to write a script that fit his own vision of a film. This shoved to the side another script that the producers had put together in the months leading up to Boyle’s getting hired.

This means that they will likely go back to that version of the script, hire a director willing to helm that script, and move forward that way without losing a whole lot of time. At least, that seems to be the most likely direction for them to go. For all we know, that other script could have huge problems that could ultimately delay things, but given how recent this news is, it’s very hard to speculate where they could go next.
