I am not going to say it. Nope. No calling for the power of you know what to start this article! If the title wasn’t enough to let you know what’s going on let me break it to you gently, Kevin Smith (Clerks, Jay and Silent Bob Reboot) will be continuing the story of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe in a new anime series from Netflix.
The war for Eternia begins again! Superstar director Kevin Smith continues the original series’ story right where it left off in Masters of the Universe: Revelation, a new series telling the epic tale of what may be He-Man and Skeletor’s final battle. pic.twitter.com/41rOXjZLtO

If you paid attention to the poster, and my first paragraph, you’ll notice this show will be an anime and not done in traditional western animation. The first thoughts that come to mind are Voltron: Legendary Defender and Castlevania, which are both available on Netflix too. Both of the previously mentioned shows are primarily done in an anime style, but both have some western flair added to them. Smith stated that Powerhouse Animation will be responsible for the show, and they did Castlevania. It’s a safe bet the popularity of that show led to them being tapped to bring this other 80’s favorite franchise to new life. The animation in Castlevania is out-freaking-standing!

Deadline quoted Smith as saying:
“I’m Eternia-ly grateful to Mattel TV and Netflix for entrusting me with not only the secrets of Grayskull, but also their entire Universe. In Revelation, we pick up right where the classic era left off to tell an epic tale of what may be the final battle between He-Man and Skeletor! Brought to life with the most metal character designs Powerhouse Animation can contain in the frame, this is the Masters of the Universe story you always wanted to see as a kid!”
Personally, my favorite stuff involving Eternia comes from Robot Chicken, but I am excited for all of the fans out there. I really enjoyed Castlevania and love Kevin Smith, so I may be checking this out.
