Breaking News In Yuba County is a dark comedy about attention seekers creating fake news for media attention.

After thinking about it, it’s too close to reality.

Allison Janney plays a housewife, who conjures up a missing person’s case after her husband’s disappearance. Her story goes awry as many parties investigate her husband’s whereabouts, including a gangster (Awkwafina), a suspicious cop (Regina Hall), her half-sister journalist (Mila Kunis), and her husband’s brother (Jimmi Simpson). And, the truth will be uncovered.

The film is supported by more all-star actors, including Wanda Sykes, Juliette Lewis, Matthew Modine, Ellen Barkin, Samira Wiley, Bridget Everett, Clifton Collins, Jr., and Keong Sim. Tate Taylor (The Help, The Girl on the Train) directed the film from a script from Amanda Idoko.
