Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Lin-Manuel Miranda To Play Amy’s Brother

Brooklyn Nine-Nine may have been canceled for roughly 24 hours, but these past few episodes have proven that the show is anything but stale. The laughs are still there and in spite of a somewhat uncharacteristic lack fo conflict so far this season (at least in terms of the overarching story), it’s managed to be as entertaining as ever.

Now we have something to look forward to. According to a new report from EW, Hamilton creator, musician, and actor Lin-Manuel Miranda is set to guest star in “The Golden Child,” the upcoming March 7 episode of the series. In the episode, he will be playing David Santiago, Amy’s brother who apparently doubles as her rival. Based on that information, I can only assume David is the proverbial “golden child” who Amy has always sought to outperform (or perhaps it’s reversed?).

This is especially fitting, as Miranda is a huge fan of the show, as he declared when the series was canceled at Fox.

Sadly, that March 7 episode is still a month or so away from hitting screens, so we have quite a bit of time to wait.

Miranda is no stranger to TV. In the past, he’s shown up on shows like Modern Family, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and DuckTales, so he’ll be right at home here with another comedy-focused show.
