Cameron Monaghan, Cal Kestis actor teases live-action Star Wars discussions in a recent interview with Screen Rant. Monaghan played Cal in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and will reprise the role in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor the upcoming sequel. Both games are considered canon, although I’ve been told that before only to have it changed later on (cough), Shadows of the Empire (cough).
There has been rumors and fan speculation about a Cal Kestis live-action appearance. After all, the period that Jedi: Fallen Order is set, and it’s later sequel are being explored in various Star Wars shows.
Promoting, indie movie Paradise Highway, Monaghan was asked about whether he’d had any discussions about a live-action Star Wars appearance?
“Well of course there’s interest. That’s about all I can say. [Laughs]”
Coy, but certainly that appears to be conformation. Not that Monaghan will show up in live-action, but it appears there has been some discussions.

Though we don’t obviously know the full story of Survivor. The little we have seen shows Cal has aged. My guess is that the sequel will be in and around the timeline of A New Hope, roughly speaking? I guess the question remains where could Monaghan show up for a live-action debut? Andor seems like a possibility given the setting is probably closest to Fallen Order timeline wise. However there have been no rumors of Monaghan’s involvement and it doesn’t feel like the right story for me.
I think a better question, which we don’t yet have the answer to, is what happened to Cal across the period of the Galactic Civil War? In other words, is Cal still around in the MandoVerse timeline? Could he appear in future stories in that era for example?However, until gamers get their hands on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor it’s hard to say what Cal’s ultimate destination is?
