Canadian Broadcaster Cuts Trump Cameo From Home Alone 2

It stands to reason that if you’re only the third president in the history of the United States to be impeached (Johnson & Clinton), that you’d have bigger fish to fry.  Certainly, you wouldn’t be worried about television broadcasts in other nations. Not so, says Donald Trump!

Following the airing of a truncated version of Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, in which the Canadian Broadcaster, CBC, omitted the pivotal meeting between young Kevin McCallister and then real estate mogul, Trump took to Twitter to comment.

While Trump added “jk” to his post, he made sure to make the matter political when he mentioned Trudeau and NATO as the rationale for the broadcaster cutting his cameo. Never mind the fact that the edit was made two years before Trudeau became the Canadian Prime Minister.

The disagreements between the Canadian PM and his American counterpart have become the stuff of media attention and reached fever pitch following their meeting a few weeks ago after which Trudeau was caught on camera making fun of the American president to other world leaders. Trump later called Trudeau “two-faced” in response.

For their part, CBC spokesperson, Chuck Thompson, responded to the joke by stating that the edits occurred in 2014, two years before Trump winning the 2016 election.

“As is often the case with feature films adapted for television, Home Alone 2 was edited for time. The scene with Donald Trump was one of several that were cut from the movie as none of them were integral to the plot. These edits were done in 2014, when we first acquired the film and before Mr. Trump was elected president.”

Unaware that the edits had occurred, on Christmas Eve, Trump boasted to US Troops that the film was a “very big hit” and that he was “honored” to be in it.

“A lot of people mention it every year, especially around Christmas,” he said. “They say, ‘I just saw you,’ especially young kids. They say, ‘I just saw you on the movie.’”
