Captain America 4 was announced at the end of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Now Marvel Exec Nate Moore gives out some Cap 4 movie details. No spoilers here folks, but Moore does talk about who Sam Wilson is and what they want to achieve from a movie lead by Sam’s version of Cap. Moore recently chatted with ComicBook.com and said this of Captain America 4:
“I think, he’s not Steve Rogers and I think that’s a good thing. Because to me, this new Cap is Rocky. He’s going to be the underdog in any situation. He’s not a super soldier, he’s not a hundred years old, he doesn’t have the Avengers. What happens with this guy who announces publicly kind of, without the support, ‘I’m new Captain America.’ What happens next? I think is fascinating because he’s a guy. He’s a guy with wings and a shield, but he is a guy. So, we’re going to put him through the wringer and make him earn it, and see what happens when he is outweighed, outclassed, out-everything. What makes somebody Captain America? I’m going to argue it’s not being a super soldier. And I think we’re going to prove that with Mackie and Sam Wilson.”

I’ve made my feelings about Sam being a normal Human known before and I know many fans disagree with me. I figured at some point Sam needs to get Suped up, some fans disagree. My reasoning is that we will never be able to see Sam take on some cosmic threat like Steve did with Thanos if he’s basically Star Lord with less advanced gadgets. I know, being Cap is more than being a Super Soldier etc. However we still ultimately want fun comic book movies don’t we?
Maybe there is a best of both worlds, maybe we initially see Sam struggling with his limited capabilities but as the MCU progresses Sam gets Suped up somehow when it’s needed? What do you th9nk of these Cap 4 movie details? What are your hopes for Sam Wilson in Captain America 4? As always, leave anything below.
