Captain Marvel 2 has found a villain in Velvet Buzzsaw‘s Zawe Ashton, reports Deadline.
Of course, these days Marvel Studios seem to like using multiple villains, often in a case of the main villain behind the more hands on villain. Look at Iron Man 2, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Doctor Strange, and Ant-Man and the Wasp, to name a few.
So, will Zawe Ashton be the main thorn in Carol Danvers’s side in Captain Marvel 2? Only time will tell.
The script for Captain Marvel 2 was penned by Megan McDonnell. Previously, she was a story editor on WandaVision. The film will be directed by Nia DaCosta, who last directed the reboot of Candayman.
In addition to Brie Larson returning as Danvers and Zawe Ashton, Captain Marvel 2 will feature Ms. Marvel star Iman Vellani and Teyonah Parris.

Zawe Ashton has been in films such as Velvet Buzzsaw, Nocturnal Animals, and Greta. I can assure you Velvet Buzzsaw is really f–ked up! I have heard very similar things about Nocturnal Animals.
With Captain Marvel being on the cosmic side of the MCU, it is likely Ashton will play an alien of some sort. I would assume Kree, but we really don’t know anything about the plot of Captain Marvel 2 as of yet.
