Captain Marvel: [Trailer] Want Some Crazy Superhero Space Action? – Yes Please!

Wow, what a cool new trailer for Marvel Studios Captain Marvel, which I’m sure you know by now releases on March 8th. So far we have already had one full trailer, though this one gives more of an idea of the plot than the previous montage style trailer we have seen so far.

There are quite a few plot details we can gather from this trailer, and when added to some of the leaks and rumors we have it certainly gives this writer a fair idea of where the story is going here. I’ll dance around a certain spoiler that was revealed last week for those that are staying spoiler free, so I’ll deliberately not mention my thoughts on how that is going to shape out. But let’s take a look at some of the big take away moments from this trailer, shall we?

Carol clearly has no memory of her former life in what appears to be the US Air Force, though these memories begin to surface when she arrives back on Earth. Instead Danvers believes she is a holy Kree hero warrior, aimed liked a weapon at the threat of the Skrulls, who are clearly invading Earth in secret.

Clearly Fury and Danvers form a little team on Earth and this is the point in which the hero starts to remember she is from Earth. Carol was clearly infused with blue Kree blood at some point, is this what gave her the powers she has, or was this more in line with using powers she already had and make her think she is a Kree warrior? I wonder what happened to her to place her with the Kree in the first place or give her powers?

Captain Marvel seems able to put on or remove her helmet at will, which she seems to use for space and underwater combat. How good did that space fight look with Captain Marvel flying around shooting space ships? I wonder who the bad guys will end up being here, perhaps both the Kree and the Skrulls are told to effectively get away from Earth by Cap? She certainly says she will end the war between the Kree and the Skrull at the end of the trailer.

Such a cool trailer and I can’t wait to see this story play out, it does appear as if this will be a very different origin story from what we are used to seeing with Marvel characters.
