Carl Weathers Directed The Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 4 ‘The Foundling’

Seems crazy thinking back now, but apparently Dave Filoni was initially against the 'Baby Yoda' idea for The Mandalorian.

As confirmed by the star himself, Carl Weathers directed The Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 4, which is titled ‘The Foundling’. Of course, that episode drops this Wednesday and we’d have known anyway. Plus, Weathers letting us know he directed this one and the title really isn’t any kind of spoilers. In fact, I’d call it clever marketing by Weathers if it was his idea.

Weathers has already directed an episode of The Mandalorian Season 2 and I personally enjoyed that one. We knew Weathers would direct again in Season 3 as the star announced it way back last year at one of the cons. However the smart marketing side of things may come in revealing the name of the episode.

The fact Episode 4 is called ‘The Foundling’ is a reason to begin speculation by the fans. Foundling has so far referred to Grogu, and fans are already guessing Episode 4 may show us more flashbacks from Order 66. Remember in the trailer there was a shot that looked like it was from Order 66. This clued fans in to a possible Grogu flashback already. Ergo, when  we find out the next episode is called ‘The Foundling’ fans are putting the pieces together.

That is admittedly not much to go on. However Mando is a popular series, with mysteries, and it’s Star Wars. Fans have speculated more about less, and will again.

Add to that, one of Mando‘s biggest mysteries still unresolved is how Grogu did survive Order 66 to begin with? Especially being right there in the Temple and not in the middle of nowhere like many of the other survivors. Fans have speculated about who Grogu’s savior was since it was revealed he was present during the Temple attack.

My guess outside of flashbacks is that Episode 4 will deal with the Children of the Watch discussing what happens next with Grogu and when he begins to follow the creed. However, it’s all just speculation, no leaks or even rumors here, so I could be way off.

Carl Weathers directed The Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 4, which is titled ‘The Foundling’. As always, leave any thoughts, or speculation on that tile you have below.
