This one hit like a hammer when it broke Friday, but sadly Carl Weathers has passed away at 76. We’ll cover this sad news plus a rumor Hayden Christensen is back for Ahsoka Season 2. However, let’s start with the tragic news that The Mandalorian actor and director Carl Weathers has passed away at his home at the age of 76. Despite his age I think most fans will agree with me that Weathers looked fit as a fiddle for a man in his late 70’s.

Here is what was reported by Deadline:

‘Carl Weathers, who starred as Apollo Creed in the first four Rocky films and appeared in Predator, The Mandalorian, Happy Gilmore, Action Jackson, Arrested Development and dozens of other films and TV shows, died Thursday, his family announced. He was 76.’

“We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Carl Weathers,” his family said in a statement. “He died peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, February 1st, 2024. … Carl was an exceptional human being who lived an extraordinary life. Through his contributions to film, television, the arts and sports, he has left an indelible mark and is recognized worldwide and across generations. He was a beloved brother, father, grandfather, partner and friend.”

This one definitely stings. Look at those movies Weathers has featured in, many of them crucial movies from my childhood. Weather sure did leave a mark and I loved him as Greef Karga in Mando. He will be sorely missed, our thoughts go out to his friends and family.

The second Star Wars related story we have today is not unexpected. According to Daniel RPK on his Patreon Hayden Christensen will return as Anakin in Ahsoka Season 2.

Given Christensen was in Season 1 and the finale showed him watching over Ahsoka and Sabine, this makes a lot of sense. It may well be that Anakin can now appear to Ahsoka as a Force Ghost. It’s possible that Anakin will therefore be a guide for Ahsoka in whatever she is going to be facing. We still don’t know what Baylon is up to (another tragic passing too soon). Some fans believe it’s pointing towards the Mortis Force gods and Anakin may therefore be well placed to aid her.

Didn’t love Ahsoka, too lightweight for me. However, I did enjoy the scenes between Hayden and Rosario.
