Never in a hundred years Celeste Bronfman ended up writing a comic story for one of the most beloved franchises. When she got the opportunity to create a story for a My Little Pony comic, she jumped at the opportunity to branch out into something different.
After learning more about the comic series, she penned a lesson that should be learned from her imagination. As a result, she made an adventure for the ponies to confront their ultimate fear—the kraken.
Here’s the synopsis of the comic issue:
When a painting brings up memories of the past, Celestia and Luna must confront their fears in order to move on—which means coming face-to-face with the kraken, that terrible creature that attacked their ship so long ago! But things aren’t always as they seem in Equestria…

LRM Online’s Gig Patta spoke with comic writer Celeste Bronfman on her current project with My Little Pony. We talked about the kraken story concept, My Little Pony, and other projects she is currently involved with.
Celeste Bronfman is a writer with recent credits, including the Emmy-award winning series Degrassi and Discovery Kids Big Top Academy. Other comics she wrote also included The Rivers of London and Insider Art.
The 32-page comic My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic issue #98 is currently available in comic book stores and digitally online. The retail cover price is $3.99. The series is published by IDW Publishing.
The cover artist is Akeem S. Roberts. The variant cover artists are JustaSuta and Robin Easter.
