Papillon: Charlie Hunnam and Rami Malek On Prison Transformations [Exclusive Interview]

Many will view Papillon has a prison breakout story.

It’s much more than that. Papillon is more of a bromance story of Henri Charriere (Charlie Hunnam) and Louis Dega (Rami Malek) as they develop their friendship and common goal to escape the prison life of one of the most notorious penal colony of Devil’s Island.

The film is directed by Michael Noer. The screenplay is written by Aaron Guzikowski, based off an autobiography of the same title by Henri Charriere.

LRM Online sat down with the two actors earlier this month to discuss their prison transformations and the prison survivability.

Papillon will be playing in theaters today.
