Screenwriter Diablo Cody certainly took the world by storm back in 2007 when she wrote the film JUNO, a warmhearted take on a serious subject matter. Since then, she’s had a steady stream of work with films like JENNIFER’S BODY, YOUNG ADULT, and RICKI AND THE FLASH, among others. Without a doubt, she is one of those writers who has firmly established a voice and style for herself. 

Cody is now re-teaming with much of the creative team behind YOUNG ADULT — including actress Charlize Theron and director Jason Reitman — in her latest film, TULLY.

Bron Studios is on board to co-produce and finance the flick from the Oscar nominated director and Oscar-winning screenwrite, and the film will begin production in Vancouver late this summer.

“The new comedy tells the story of Marlo (Theron), a mother of three including a newborn, who is gifted a night nanny by her brother. Hesitant to the extravagance at first, Marlo comes to form a unique bond with the thoughtful, surprising, and sometimes challenging young nanny named Tully. “
 
The film marks a reunion for Reitman, Estabrook, Cody, Novick and Theron, who previously collaborated on YOUNG ADULT”
 

The premise itself seems a bit odd, very much in the realm of magical realism. Cody has proven to have a very unique voice int he past, and it’s likely one that will be well suited to a story like this. What do you think of this premise?
