This will come as little surprise if you’ve been keeping up. According to the Barside Buzz, Chloe Zhao directs Star Wars movie, the one by Kevin Feige. This news is something plenty, including myself, have speculated about. Zhao has has some interesting quotes which made this seem plausible. Well, according to two good Star Wars sources, Zhao is to direct Kevin Feige’s upcoming Star Wars movie. First out the gate was One Take News, i.e. BSL. However Jordan Maison was working on the same story just a little behind as you’ll see from his Twitter post below.
Here is specifically what BSL said in their recent article for One Take News.
One Take News can exclusively report that Chloé Zhao is very close to signing onto direct Kevin Feige’s Star Wars film although some sources said she’s already signed on. Either way, sources told us she was always a top choice for Feige and it’s only a matter of time before it’s a done deal.
Here is Maison bemoaning his tardiness. Hey it happens to us all in this game folks as you can often see in how quickly we are able to back one another up.
Sigh…the perils of working a day job and not able to do this full time…

The main point is we know that BSL, and Maison’s sources are all saying the same thing. Zhao is ether already signed on, or very close to doing so. That’s two names we have now for the Kevin Feige produced Star Wars movie. Michael Waldron is writing the script, and it seems Chloe Zhao is directing. Get a schedule and a cast together and this is almost a real movie. When news first broke that Feige was producing a Star Wars movie it would be fair to say fans got excited.
