According to the Barside Buzz Chris Evans has already signed for Secret Wars return and will also appear as Johnny Storm in D&W. That is what insider MTTSH has claimed on her subscription service. MTTSH says that Evans has signed on already with Marvel to appear as Captain America in Avengers: Secret Wars. This is a rumor we have heard many times before, but it was so far away back then. To clarify, those so far rumored to appear in Secret Wars are RDJ, Evans, Tobey Maguire and Hugh Jackman. We shall see closer to the time I guess?
MTTSH also claimed previously that Evans would appear in Deadpool & Wolverine as Johnny Storm. Now the claim is that Evans comes back as Storm for D&W then as Cap for Secret Wars.

I will be slightly surprised is Evans shows up as Johnny, but that comes from hearing the same rumor for Multiverse of Madness. I really would not be surprised to see Evans, RDJ, Maguire, Jackman and maybe one from 616 in Secret Wars. I’ll also point out as per usual that MTTSH hit rate has been slipping recently. Therefore, a reminder that with any rumor, it’s pinch of salt until confirmed by a trade.
As for my opinion on this? Same as RDJ for me. This should not be a resurrection or old man Cap suddenly getting younger. However, if this is an alt Universe Cap, with heroes fighting to save their own universes and it’s a one off, then I’m okay with it. This is Secret Wars after all, I can’t think of a better Marvel adaptation to actually do that with.
