According to the latest Barside Buzz, Chris Evans will play Nomad in his MCU return in Avengers: Doomsday. The information comes from Jeff Sneider on the latest edition of The Hot Mic with John Rocha.
Of course the news that Evans would be returning for Doomsday was recently revealed by several trades. Once would simply assume Evans will play an alternate version of Captain America. However, whatever universe this Steve comes from Sneider says he’s heard he will play Nomad.
Nomad is a Steve Rogers persona he’s taken on before in comics when (for whatever reason) he was not Captain America. Some fans might even say the 616 version of Steve was Nomad during the events of Infinity War, when he wasn’t using the shield. Given Sam will play Captain America, or the 616 version in the film, it makes sense Steve doesn’t use that name. Beyond that though who can really say outside Marvel?

In the video linked above Sneider and Rocha discuss what this could mean, however it is purely speculative. The pair wonder if perhaps this Steve comes from the same Universe as RDJ’s Doctor Doom? That perhaps Doom could have his own team of alt-Universe Avengers?
Again, that’s speculative so for now we have no idea in what context Nomad will show up. Additionally, as always take any rumor with a pinch of salt, though Sneider has a good hit rate.
