Chris Lofing and Travis Cluff on the We All Scream Short Film [Exclusive Interview]

We All Scream - Chris Lofing and Travis Cluff

The catchy tunes. A white ice cream truck. A man behind a counter with all your favorite ice cream treats. It’s a perfect nightmare for any child as the supernatural horror masters Chris Lofing and Travis Cluff bring this tale to life in the short film We All Scream.

The short film made its round in the film festival circuits with Telluride Horror Show, ScreamFest, Indie Short Fest, Cinequest, and the Popcorn Frights Film Festival.

Written by Jener Dasilva, the story is about a young boy, who gets a sweet tooth in the middle of the night. Ignored by his mother, he hears the jingling sounds of an ice cream truck in the neighbor as he meets up with the Ice Cream Man named Mr. Sweetie.

The short film stars Joseph JoJo Martinez, Amber Medina, and Travis Cluff as Mr. Sweetie.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta chatted with the co-directors Chris Lofing and Travis Cluff on their short film. We talked a bit about the production, Mr. Sweetie, and the ice cream truck. Also, we discussed on how their production company Tremendum plans to assist other aspiring filmmakers by assisting in writing, producing, and directing their projects. It’ll mark the company’s expanded efforts outside of the supernatural horror genre.

Chris Lofing and Travis Cluff surprised the horror industry with their theatrical hit The Gallows back in 2015. The film became a cult hit, especially producing high-quality stories on a limited budget. In 2019, the pair directed its sequel The Gallows Act II as a never ending tale of the supernatural horror. Earlier this year, the directors entered the thriller arena with Held, a film about a couple trapped inside a house and forced to reignite their relationship.

The short film We All Scream is streaming today on Tremendum’s YouTube channel. Or you can view it below following the exclusive interview with Chris Lofing and Travis Cluff. Let us know what you think.

And, don’t forget not to take sweet treats from strangers.
