Christina Vidal and Ignacio Diaz-Silverio bring the warm mother and son relationship in the new Latin comedy series Primo.
The Synopsis
The coming-of-age, single-camera comedy, inspired by Serrano’s life growing up in San Antonio, TX, follows Rafa Gonzales (Ignacio Diaz-Silverio, “Departing Seniors”), a wide-eyed 16-year-old being raised by his clever mother, Drea (Christina Vidal, “See No Devil”), and his five overbearing uncles (Rollie, Mike, Ryan, Jay, and Mondo) as they live their lives on the southside of San Antonio. Rafa is at an inflection point, as three big life moments coincide: he and his friends are nearing the end of high school; he’s pretty sure he just met the girl of his dreams; and he just found out he has a real chance to become the first person in his family to go to college. Over the course of the series, the group—Rafa, his mom, uncles, friends, and crush—will all affect each other and help one another grow in ways they weren’t expecting, whether they like it or not.

The child actress Christina Vidal was born in New York with Puerto Rican roots. During her late teens she joined the girl group called Gemstone that included Jade Villalon. Acting came shortly after when she got the part to play “Angie Vega” in Life with Mikey with one of our favorite Canadians, Michael J. Fox. This role placed her as the first Puerto Rican child actress to play a lead role in an American film. Since then Vidal has maintained a busy career and is known for other projects like Nickelodeon’s Taina, Freaky Friday, Welcome to the Dollhouse, See No Evil, Training Day and The Guilty among others. Last year she was seen in The Terminal List on Prime Video.

While Ignacio spoke about getting to play a character that doesn’t always get the best advice. They both expressed their feelings for the full family scenes and more!
