Ballmastrz: Rubicon

Creator Christy Karacas returns to Adult Swim with his animated post-apocalyptic world with Ballmastrz: Rubicon. This all-new special follows the events of the second season of the Adult Swim series, Ballmastrz: 9009. This animated anime-inspired series comes from Studio 4℃ in Japan.

The series, Ballmastrz: 9009 was first released in April 2018, and it went on two seasons with 20 episodes. In this post-apocalyptic world ravaged by war, a demigod cyborg named Crayzar creates a roller derby-like sport known simply as “The Game”. This game was credited for supposedly ending all wars.

Returning to Ballmastrz: Rubicon is the voice cast from the series that includes Natasha Lyonne, Dana Snyder, Dave Willis, Eric Bauza, and Jessica DiCicco.

LRM Online‘s Manny Gomez had a chance to speak with Karacas ahead of the release of the special on Adult Swim and HBO Max. During the conversation, Karacas spoke about his inspiration behind the series and special as well the creation of the game.

Karacas comments on how the all-new special veers away from the game and focuses more on some of the characters. He speaks on where the special goes from here. If it would be possible to maybe see another season of Ballmastrz in the future. You can check out the full conversation below!
