CinemaCon 2017: Channing Tatum Brings Americanism Into Kingsman: The Golden Circle

‘Merica!

At CinemaCon 2017, Twentieth Century Fox premiered its first footage this week for Kingsman: The Golden Circle.

The first footage revealed nefarious bad guys chasing after Eggsy being chased by multiples vehicles. In his own special car, it shoot missiles vertically that destroys the enemies. A new enemy has emerged trying to eliminate the remaining Kingsman organization. The mansion gets destroyed in a crater-like explosion and the infamous tailor shop explodes.

It is also revealed the new enemy is untraceable for burning off the fingerprints and only having an identifying mark of a 24-karot tattoo on the body.

In a last hope for survival, Merlin and Eggsy opens a secret safe that will contain all their answers. Inside the safe lies a bottle of alcohol. They started to drink the alcohol and a back label reveals the word “Kentucky.”

Eggsy travels to Kentucky, in which he meets his own American spy counterpart played by Channing Tatum. The Southern-accented cowboy hat wearing agent turns out to be a member of the U.S. version of the Kingsman called the Statesman, led by the Head of Statesman (played by Jeff Bridges).

It is also revealed that Harry Hart (Colin Firth) is in a holding cell and lost an eye. He and Eggsy reunites.

There is even a fight in a ski lift gondola and an American flag parachute opens up.

One of the biggest highlights is a laser lasso, in which wraps around an enemy and severs him into two pieces. There are also brief highlights of using robots like robotic dogs.

Here’s the official synopsis:

Kingsman: The Golden Circle introduced the world to Kingsman – an independent, international intelligence agency operating at the world highest level of discretion, who ultimate goal is to keep the world safe. In Kingsman: The Golden Circle, our heroes face a new challenge. When their headquarters are destroyed and the world is held hostage, their journey leads them to the discovery of an allied spy organization in the US called Statesman, dating back to the day they were both founded. In a new adventure that tests their agents’ strengths and wits to the limit, these two elite secret organizations band together to defeat a ruthless common enemy, in order to save the world, something that’s becoming a bit of a habit for Eggsy…..

The returning cast from the original movie will include Taron Egerton, Colin Firth, Mark Strong and Sophie Cookson. The new cast members will include Channing Tatum, Pedro Pascal, Jeff Bridges, Halle Berry, Julianne Moore and Vinnie Jones. It is directed by Matthew Vaughn.

The original Kingsman: The Secret Service is one of the greatest secret agent movies that is filled with memorable action sequences, humor and even James Bond quality elements. From the footage witnessed at CinemaCon in Las Vegas this week, the sequel intends to bring the intensity to a greater level. It’s definitely one of the more anticipated movies from Twentieth Century Fox this year.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle will be in theaters on September 29.
