CinemaCon 2018: Quentin Tarantino Says Once Upon A Time In Hollywood Is Like The Next Pulp Fiction

The trio of Hollywood powers have united.

At the Sony Pictures presentation at CinemaCon, director Quentin Tarantino will be teaming up with Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt for Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. Margot Robbie and Zoe Bell are the actresses also named so far to join the cast.

DiCaprio couldn’t reveal much on the storyline, but noted that not a single frame had been filmed at this time.

Tarantino was a bit more giving.

As a tease, Tarantino revealed this Los Angeles story to be a product of Hollywood in the glorious Hippie culture of 1969.

“Sony and I are coming to the theaters with the most exciting star dynamic duo since Robert Redford and Paul Newman. It’s Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood,” said Tarantino. “It’s all very much hush-hush and top secret. I can’t go into any big details of the story. I can tell you that Once Upon A Time In Hollywood takes place during that Hollywood era of 1969. It takes place at the height of the counter-culture explosion. It takes place at the time of the Hippie revolution. It takes place at the height of new Hollywood.”

Tarantino furthered explain on how he will handle the production of the film.

“During this summer, we will little by little, street by street, block by block–transforming Los Angeles into this psychedelic era of Hollywood of 1969.”

He also hinted that Once Upon A Time In Hollywood circles around a couple of lead characters, but supported by a bunch of wild characters. It will be the closest thing to Pulp Fiction.

Oh, boy. Can’t wait.

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is slated for August 9, 2019.
