According to a new report by Variety, the rumored Clayface movie is officially underway at DC Studios. Check out what the trade had to say on the movie.

‘Fresh off the success of the HBO series “The Penguin,” DC Studios has officially greenlit a feature film centered around Clayface, the shapeshifting Batman villain, from a script written by “Doctor Sleep” filmmaker Mike Flanagan, according to a source with direct knowledge of the production. Plot details are scarce, but filming is expected to begin early next year.’

‘Matt Reeves and Lynn Harris will produce through their company 6th & Idaho Productions.’

Whether this would link in with Gunn’s DCU, or Matt Reeves BatmanVerse is unclear. It actually seems most likely that this may just be a standalone movie not connected to either franchise.

Which probably means we should not expect a CGI character voiced by Alan Tudyk, who plays the character in Gunn’s DCU show Creature Commandos.

There are of course many different versions of the Clayface character, from the ordinary to the extreme. I always preferred the extreme version myself, but can we possibly assume this would be the version who looks more Human?

I guess we will need to wait and find out once production gets underway.

What do you think of the news that a Clayface movie is officially underway at DC Studios? As usual, leave anything below.
