Today is the official release date for Clifford the Big Red Dog. This fun family feature film is right on time of the beginning of what a lot of people deem the beginning of the holiday season. For decades now this big red pup has ignited the imagination of many kids to think bigger. That yes as a kid its possible for you to have a giant loving dog. Overall the stories are a lot of fun. So much so that Clifford is the official mascot of Scholastic.

In Clifford the Big Red Dog, just as important as the pup, is Emily Elizabeth. She is Clifford’s loving owner and best friend. In the film, she is portrayed by the young and talented Darby Camp. With Clifford being digital, she had the challenge to act and respond to a giant dog that wasn’t really there. She is joined by Jack Whitehall who plays her Uncle Casey. On film, both of them have a fun chemistry that plays well in the film.

With the release of Clifford the Big Red Dog, LRM Online’s Emmanuel Gomez spoke with both Darby Camp and Jack Whitehall. Camp tells us about her experience with working with a puppet on set and how their great job helped her imagine Clifford. Whitehall tells us a funny story about how he made the mistake of wanting to eat something whenever possible on onscreen. Something that came back to bite him when in certain scenes many takes were necessary. It was a fun conversation that you can check out down below!

Here is the synopsis for Clifford the Big Red Dog

When middle-schooler Emily Elizabeth (Darby Camp) meets a magical animal rescuer (John Cleese) who gifts her a little, red puppy, she never anticipated waking up to find a giant ten-foot hound in her small New York City apartment. While her single mom (Sienna Guillory) is away for business, Emily and her fun but impulsive uncle Casey (Jack Whitehall) set out on an adventure that will keep you on the edge-of-your-seat as our heroes take a bite out of the Big Apple. Based on the beloved Scholastic book character, Clifford will teach the world how to love big!

Clifford the Big Red Dog is now playing in theaters and on Paramount+.
