I’m currently on the last episode of Cobra Kai Season 3. It took me a little while to get back in the groove, but once I started I flew through the episodes. It seems showrunner Hayden Schlossberg believes there are even more stories within this universe of an 80s classic. The two recently spoke with TVLine and discussed the possibility of spin-offs. You can check out what they had to say below.
“Our hope is that we can really expand this whole Karate Kid universe and reinvigorate the fanbase so that it’s a story we can continue telling. We do have an endgame for Cobra Kai, but we always compare it to our other favorite show, Breaking Bad, [and how] they’re able to keep the story going with Better Call Saul and El Camino.

“We spend time with Kreese’s backstory [in Season 3], but we could’ve spent more time with Kreese’s backstory. We have so many things to tell in these half-hour episodes, it ends up not being enough. We’re just having a fun time as friends getting to work in the sandbox of The Karate Kid and hope to keep it going.”
The Karate Kid is a prime example of a film from the glorious decade of the 1980s. Cobra Kai is a prime example of how to continue the story of a beloved film the right way. I’m just not sure there are very many more stories in this universe. Though I would like nothing more than to be proven wrong on that statement.
However, I the flashbacks that told the story of a young John Kreese’s, so I would watch a series focused on him.BU tas I said, I would love to be surprised by the ways Hayden Schlossberg and Jon Hurwitz can expand this universe.
