Cobweb Trailer Redefines the Eerie Creature That Lives in the Walls

Woody Norman in Cobweb

After Hulu’s The Boogeyman this year, Lionsgate presents its version of things that go bump in the night and the darkness with Cobweb.

The anticipated film was selected as the 2018 The Blood List Top Selected Screenplay and 2018 The Black List Top Ranking Screenplay.

This is undoubtedly one of the films to watch this year for horror aficionados.

The film stars Lizzy Caplan (Cloverfield, Now You See Me 2) and Antony Starr (The Boys, Without a Paddle) as the creepy and very suspicious parents to Woody Norman (C’mon C’mon). Cleopatra Coleman is in the supporting role as the teacher that suspects something amiss with the strange household.

Samuel Bodin directed the film from the script written by Chris Thomas Devlin.

Here is the official synopsis of Cobweb:

Eight-year-old Peter is plagued by a mysterious, constant tap, tap from inside his bedroom wall—a tapping that his parents insist is all in his imagination. As Peter’s fear intensifies, he believes that his parents (Lizzy Caplan and Antony Starr) could be hiding a terrible, dangerous secret and question their trust. And for a child, what could be more frightening than that?

The real star of this film is the child actor Woody Norman as he carries the movie with the other veteran stars. The film runs its course like The Boogeyman film with its dark horrors that crawls under your skin. And then suddenly, it becomes more like Malignant with a creature feature that certainly takes the audience on a wild ride.

Cobweb is exclusively in theaters on July 21, 2023.
