Make way for Prince Akeem and his royal family as the teaser trailer for Coming 2 America is here. Thirty-two years after Coming to America, the comedic duo of Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall are back. They will be reprising their roles as Akeen and Semmi in Coming 2 America, which will debut on Amazon Prime Video in March of 2021.
Coming 2 America is set in the lush and royal fictional country of Zamunda. The newly-crowned King Akeem and his trusted confidante Semmi are pushed into another adventure. It will have them traveling through their African nation, all the way back to Queens, New York. The place where their first adventure took place.
Amazon Prime Video released several first look images of the film earlier this month. With these images, it seems like they wanted you to get nostalgic. Now you can check out the new trailer below!

Coming 2 America is directed by Craig Brewer. Based on a screenplay by Kenya Barris and Barry W. Blaustein & David Sheffield. The story was also put together by Blaustein, Sheffield with Justin Kanew. Which is based on characters created by Murphy, who is producing with Kevin Misher. Executive producers on the film are Brian Oliver, Bradley Fischer, Valerii An, Barris, Charisse Hewitt-Webster, Michele Imperato Stabile, and Andy Berman.
Murphy and Hall are joined by Jermaine Fowler, Leslie Jones, Tracy Morgan, KiKi Layne, Shari Headley, with Wesley Snipes and James Earl Jones. Also starring John Amos, Teyana Taylor, Vanessa Bell Calloway, Paul Bates, Nomzamo Mbatha, Bella Murphy, Vanessa Bell Calloway, Paul Bates
It is great to see Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall back together. Two comedic geniuses and their popularity rose to superstar status during the 80’s and 90’s. Both had a major impact on the comedic world influencing most of the popular comics of today. Coming 2 America appears to keep the same style of comedy the original made us laugh so hard at.
Amazon Prime Studios’ Coming 2 America will debut on their streaming service on March 5th, 2021.
