Connor Storrie (Heated Rivalry) is set to play the unnamed villain in Marvel’s Ghost Rider movie starring Ryan Gosling. Ghost Rider, which will be directed by Gosling’s director on Star Wars: Starfighter, Shawn Levy is set for release on July 28, 2028. We had heard rumors lately that this was the movie Marvel was getting ready to begin casting. Since the lead role is in the bag (Gosling), then the next biggest role to cast is normally the antagonist.

The news from trades is below, but let’s first give props to scooper Caleb Williams of Knight Edge Media who once again beat the trades to this news. By a matter of hours perhaps, but it could be that THR was sitting on the story and Williams article forced their hand. This is not uncommon.

Lets begin with what Williams said in the article linked above.

‘Today, we at Knight Edge Media have exclusively learned that actor Connor Storrie has entered into talks to co-star in Marvel Studios’ Ghost Rider reboot. It’s important to stress that the deal isn’t done, and they are only circling Storrie for this role.’

‘We are told Storrie was simply offered the role and didn’t audition, much like Sadie Sink as Jean Grey.’

‘It’s currently under wraps who he is playing, but it could be the main villain.’

Now THR, 

‘Storrie, who broke out with the hockey drama series Heated Rivalry, is in talks to star opposite Ryan Gosling in Ghost Rider for Marvel Studios.’

‘It is not known which villain Storrie would be playing. Blaze/Ghost Rider did not exactly have a signature villain but did have a coterie of demonic antagonists.’

So, the language used by both is different but there’s a good chance Storrie is already locked for the role. Whatever character this may be, it seems certain to be the main villain. As per the related article above, it’s yet to be determined if Mephisto will show up in this film. It would make perfect sense, but it depends if Marvel wants to carry on where Ironheart left off.
