Could A LEGO Leak Have Given Us The First Look At Aquaman’s Black Manta?

James Wan’s Aquaman starring Jason Mamoa and Amber Heard from Warner Bros. Pictures is set to hit theaters this December. Besides a couple of stills and footage that was shown exclusively at CinemaCon, we really haven’t seen much of this film. But thanks to some leaked images of some new LEGO toys we may have our first look at one of the villains of the film. Check it out below!

This is none other than Aquaman’s infamous arch nemesis Black Manta. He is a ruthless treasure hunter and mercenary. There are some key features that would make any DC fan very happy. The all black costume, the alien like dome as well as the red eyes that hopefully also fire lasers. Although LEGOs are not always a clear indication of what a film’s character will look like, this is the second time that we hear that Black Manta’s film adaptation would be close to the comics. Back at CinemaCon earlier this year CINEMABLEND reported that Black Manta’s costume was
“straight out of the comics”.

Black Manta first appeared in comics in DC Comics’ Aquaman #35 in September of 1967. He was created by Bob Haney and Nick Cardy. In Wan’s Aquaman he will be portrayed by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.

what are your thoughts on Black Manta? Would you want a comic accurate suite? Or would the dome be a little too much? let us know in the comment section below!

Warner Bros. Pictures’ Aquaman hits land December 21st, 2018.
