Crazy New Star Wars Sequel Trilogy Rumors And More | Barside Buzz

New Unnamed Star Wars Movie To Shoot Next Year? | Barside Buzz

Well, the latest video from Josh at Den of Nerds has certainly got my attention. Want some crazy new Star Wars sequel trilogy rumors and more? Here we go. In Josh’s latest video he makes some claims about how Lucasfilm is handling the era of the sequel trilogy that covered Episodes 7-9. I’m just going to stick to the rumors Josh has heard here rather than getting into his speculation, which is all he claims it to be. If you want to see what Josh thinks Lucasfilm could be doing with all this, then go ahead and watch his video below. However below that, I will also detail the actual rumors he has heard for those who can’t watch the video.

First up, Josh has heard the rumored Finn show is real, and first of many sequel trilogy era projects Lucasfilm will begin to develop going forward. There is also some chatter online that J.D Dillard and Matt Owens Star Wars project would be this Finn focused Disney+ show. Maybe there is some truth to this one, I don’t know? Maybe this is just early discussion and planning, or maybe they really are pushing ahead now with a show about Finn? I don’t have any information for you on this one from our own sources. I’ll ask some questions, but no guarantees they’ve heard or that they’ll be willing to talk.

Second most important rumor Josh has heard is the potential for a new sequel trilogy set after the events of The Rise of Skywalker. Weirdly Josh seems to have heard this could star Ben Solo. Now, it’s Star Wars, so I discount nothing, but isn’t Ben, you know, dead? Would Rey not know whether he was gone or not? So how could Ben come back for a new sequel trilogy? Again I don’t have the answers, I’m just playing devil’s advocate, Josh, and Den of Nerds are friends of LRM, and at the end of the day he’s just reporting what he’s heard from usually good sources.

I take any rumor that doesn’t come from our own sources (or a trade) with a grain of salt anyway, so we will wait and see. If Ben had not died, then the idea of a new trilogy starring him would actually appeal to me. Driver’s Solo/Ren was 100% the best character in that sequel trilogy for me. So let’s see how this pans out, but just keep your sodium levels topped up on this one for now. After all, we know that this does not seem to be what is planned for any of the next three movies being made by Lucasfilm for Star Wars.

Finally Josh also said he’s heard that the current Disney+ shows will all be building towards the current sequel trilogy. This makes sense based on what we have seen with our own eyes so far in the series released. However Josh indicated there may be some set up in both Andor and Obi-Wan Kenobi towards that sequel trilogy. That would be far more unexpected.

Bold Claims

Yeah, there is some bold claims here, but that’s often how these early details go. When LRM first reported that Lucasfilm was developing a Game of Thrones like story set across multiple shows including Ahsoka, and Boba Fett (The book of Boba Fett) everyone thought we were crazy. Ok, a few details changed. For a start we simply don’t know what is happening with Rangers of the New Republic following Carano’s firing. However, look where we are with the other two. We also said an Ezra and Thrawn show was coming and we have heard no different so far. With both characters now cast for Ahsoka, I think it seems highly likely.

In other words, if this is true young Skywalker, you will have earned my trust. However until then I reserve the right to be naturally skeptical.

What do you think of these rumors? New Star Wars sequel trilogy rumors. A possible Finn show and maybe more, do you want it, do you believe it’s happening? Share your thoughts below as always.
