It hasn’t even been a week since we got the last trailer for the Netflix original film, CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON: SWORD OF DESTINY, the sequel to 2000’s CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON, but seeing as the movie will be hitting the streaming service within a matter of days, it makes sense they’d make one last push.

Check out the third trailer below!

This one definitely takes a less epic approach to the storytelling. It’s more focused on the action rather than the story at large. The result is a more exciting trailer, though admittedly one that seems to have missed the point of the original film. While the first picture was well known for its fight scenes, it was first and foremost a character story. This one seems to have taken all the surface elements of the first one and made it the focus of this entry in the franchise.

Will it be any good? We’ll have to wait and see.

The synopsis for the film is as follows:

CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON: SWORD OF DESTINY tells an epic story of lost love, young love, a legendary sword and one last opportunity at redemption, set against breathtaking action in an epic martial arts battle between good and evil that will decide the fate of the Martial World.”

What did you think of the trailer? Did this approach grab you at all, or does it seem like a flimsy premise to hang a bunch of action set pieces on? Let us know what you think down below!
