Cyberpunk 2077 Gameplay Video And Destiny 2: Forsaken Trailer | Video Game Roundup

A couple of big videos dropped in the video game world yesterday and we felt they were worth sharing with those who don’t regularly browse dedicated video games channels.

Let’s start with Cyberpunk 2077, shall we?

Cyberpunk 2077 is likely my most anticipated game in years. The game has been made by developers CD Projekt Red, the guys who created all The Witcher games for PC and Console including the critically lauded The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt. The Witcher 3 is one of my all-time favorite games and I was pumped to hear that CDPR were working on a brand new IP. We knew the name Cyberpunk 2077 for some time and it has its source in a tabletop game called Cyberpunk 2020. This game is set 57 years after the original tabletop game.

Cyberpunk is a First Person Action RPG. That means that it should look and feel like a FPS action game in combat, but have the deep story, lore, choices, and customization of an RPG game. Up until yesterday, we had almost no idea what Cyberpunk was really going to be like, hell, we don’t even know a release date for it yet?

However, CDPR has released a huge 48-minute long gameplay video with narration. Frankly, this looks absolutely amazing. I think this is the prettiest looking game I have ever seen, and the trademark CDPR moral choices and deep story seem present. For those worried about 48 minutes of gameplay spoiling the game for them, don’t.

If you watched the first hour of The Witcher 3, you would still not have seen more than a mere glimpse at what the game has to offer. Here is the video below, but it might be worth coming back to this at the end of the article, as it’s 48 minutes long. I Hope you are as blown away as I am with what you are seeing here.

Secondly we are going to talk a bit of Destiny 2.

Now if you read LRM regularly you will know I was a big fan of Destiny and severely disappointed in the mess that Destiny 2 was at launch. However, recently developers Bungie have been doing a much better job of communicating with fans and providing the kind of content they want to see. A recent secret mission to uncover a super powerful weapon called The Whisper of the Worm was, in my opinion, the best Destiny content ever created.

Next week on September 4, Bungie releases the big year 2 expansion subtitled Forsaken. Forsaken is the beginning of Destiny 2‘s second year of release and most of my criticisms of the game are being fixed. Don’t get me wrong, they already fixed a lot of issues in the last installment, but now we are getting towards the final few things fans have asked for. There is also a brand new story, a new Raid, and new PvP/PvE hybrid game Gambit.

Let’s take a look at the cinematic trailer for Forsaken.

I swore that no matter how much they improved this game I was not going to buy Forsaken, I felt so stung by the vanilla Destiny 2 release and the awful first expansion that came with the season pass. Check out my scathing review of it below in the related section. But the excellence of the latest expansion Warmind and all the promised changes coming has made me excited for it again. It also didn’t help that my gaming clan all decided they were getting it anyway, so I was never going to be the only one missing out.

Below is an in-depth video from developer Bungie where they talk about the mistakes they made with Destiny 2 and how they are looking to put this right in Forsaken. If you want some real insight into how they perceive their game will work going forward watch the viDoc below, but again a warning, it’s not a short video.

So for me, and I am sure many other gamers out there, yesterday was a really cool news day. Check out the videos and let us know what you think of either Cyberpunk 2077 or Destiny 2: Forsaken in the usual place below.
