This years D23 is expected to have Marvel, Pixar and Star Wars updates in a major panel at the fan event. Whilst we still have no official word on who is promoting what at D23, the folks at Discussing Film had this to say.
Marvel Studios will next reveal new info about upcoming projects in a major panel on August 9 at D23
Lucasfilm & Pixar will also be revealing new info about their slates at this panel.

I’ve seen a few in this industry theorize that D23 will be a Disney+ show update. That perhaps we should expect to find out more about some of the upcoming Disney+ series coming soon. Or, like the movie side to also have a couple of announcements for new projects coming in the future. Of course we just got a big movie update of sorts at SDCC. Since there was no mention of the TV content, that’s what got folks thinking D23.

As for Pixar, D23 is really the only convention where they’d be getting the space as a studio to promote what’s next. Star Wars also has Celebration, but frankly it’s rare anything of note gets announced at SWC. I guess that is perhaps a symptom of nothing getting announced at all. Right now it seems the whole Lucasfilm studio seems in a mess. We shall see, but it may take a KK retirement to kick that franchise into a new gear.
Given how things have been going I would not be surprised to hear absolutley nothing from Lucasfilm. Maybe a tease of Andor Season 2 and/or Skeleton Crew, but that could be all they have.
I’m not yet sure if LRM will have someone at D23 this year. However, rest assured well be bringing you all the biggest news drops for your favourite franchises. If there is any news to drop that is.
