Daniel Craig has never been one to mince words. During the press rounds for Spectre, he famously said that he’d rather slash his wrists than do another film at that moment. Of course, with a little bit of time (and probably a lot of money), he returned for one more movie, with No Time to Die now serving has his final go-round as everyone’s favorite British agent.

But is it really the end for him? Express.de had an interview with the actor, and asked whether or not this was actually going to be his last outing as 007. 

“Yes! In the future someone else has to do it!” Craig responded.

But then came another question: would he be interested in directing a film? I honestly have no idea where this question came from, but great actors do historically great directors, but Craig seemed less than intrigued by the idea.

“For God’s sake, no! I want to come home, eat something, and then go to bed. If you’re a director, then at night you’re still with the producers, screenwriters, and what do I know on the phone. And then after two hours of sleep, you have to go back up to the set. No thanks!”

He’s definitely honest, and he has no illusions about what the job is, and I can respect his continued honesty. So if you were hoping to one day see a Daniel Craig joint, it doesn’t look like it’ll be happening.
