Fede Alvarez has already made his name in the horror genre with movies like Don’t Breathe and The Evil Dead remake, and it looks like he’ll be adding another film into the genre as a part of his Bad Hombre banner. The company signed a deal with Legendary Pictures, and his new film will be an interesting horror film set in the White House, which is actually kind of perfect given the name of the company.

The currently-untitled movie is being described as “The Shining in the White House,” which is a great little description, and Alvarez himself is planning on directing the film from a script by Joe Epstein.

Another project Bad Hombre will be doing with Legendary is a reboot of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. While I’m not too thrilled with the idea of that getting a reboot, I do think Alvarez has pretty good taste when it comes to horror, so I’m at least interested in the possibilities. Chris Thomas Devlin will serve as writer, and we don’t know who will direct.
