Well I’ve just watched the Season 2 finale of Daredevil: Born Again and here is my review, plus a Season 2 review as well. Before we get into it I am keeping this Spoiler Free, though I will assume any readers have watched the other seven episodes of Season 2.
I’ll begin by saying that I thoroughly enjoyed this episode, though I have a few notes as well. My notes however, may be of almost no consequence to the average audience who are going to be into the Daredevil TV series. It’s had to fault that this finale gave us some twists and turns, plenty of drama and some big climactic moments. Plus, like Season 1 did, we get a small tease at where things may go in Season 3 which is filming now for release in 2027.
Without plot details I’ll say that I wasn’t sure how things would be resolved, and the show managed to surprise me in a couple of ways. Additionally, make no mistake that this once again is not for children. The level of violence is quite severe and shocking in one or two moments. I enjoyed that, but it’s worth making a note of it for anyone that had concerns around that area.
Notes
One of the things that surprised me was the amount of court time we got this week. It was exciting and fun. However, if anyone has ever watched one of those online videos of a real lawyer picking apart courtroom dramas shown on film and TV? Well, those guys are going to have a field day with this.
I was reminded of a Futurama episode at times, when the judge just keeps saying “I’m going to allow this” after increasingly ludicrous antics. This is not reality TV, so the show plays fast and loose using ‘Hollywood court rules’. You know, where last minute witnesses can burst into courts and you can accuse a witness and prosecute them as well, etc, etc.
Still, did I say it was fun, because it was and whilst this is a note, it’s not a criticism. I’ve seen Quincy and Perry Mason, I’m old enough.

I also had to really work to force my suspension of disbelief at one point, specifically with regards to Fisk’s actions and his arc resolution. I can’t say any more due to spoilers but you’ll know what I mean when you see it.
Vincent D’Onofrio and Charlie Cox get most of the spotlight this week and it’s great because their both brilliant actors and when you get them together there’s a chemistry. That’s always the tough task with Daredevil. You out these guys on screen together and sparks fly. However, you cannot do it too often given their respective traits. As such, when it does happen and the pair square off, it feels special.
GRADE A:
Probably up there with 4/5 as one of the best episodes of Season 2, the finale offers a larger than life climax for the fate of New York. Sides are chosen, the gauntlet is thrown and the City will decide what happens next. In the red corner Daredevil, in the blue corner, Kingpin.
Fun, dramatic and whilst occasionally teetering close to over the top, provides a satisfying end to this two season arc.
Season 2 Review
Overall, I have Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again at one grade better than Season 1.
GRADE A:
Season 2 feels more focused than Season 1 and it all links up better than the at times disjointed Season 1. The ending to this two season arc works and Season 2 has some nice little subplots which help the story tick along.
A few episodes felt rushed and occasionally some emotional scenes needed room to breathe. However, this season also gave us some really intense dramatic scenes and some brilliant superhero action. I do wonder if Season 3 can top this or not? But I look forward to finding out.
Leave us your thoughts below on the Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 finale, or my review, or Season 2 in general.
