Darkness is coming. Or at least that’s what the new poster for Daredevil Season 3 promises. If you follow the official Twitter account for the show, you may have noticed that it dropped earlier today.

Check it out below!

The image in question that makes up the poster shows off a Daredevil mask propped on top of a cross tombstone (or at least what we assume is a tombstone). This is quite fitting since Daredevil was presumed dead in the final minutes of The Defenders, even though we know he wasn’t actually dead. That being said, this does seem to set the stage for a world where he is presumed dead, and it gives him a chance to rise.

In the background, we see a Catholic church along with some other buildings and skyscrapers that make up New York. It’s all covered in a red color scheme that has graced the marketing of the show from day one. At the top left, we see the words “Let there be darkness.” The implications are clear — darkness himself is returning.

Additionally, it doesn’t look like death will be the ultimate low point for Matt Murdock. As we saw in that initial teaser, he’s back in his black bandana outfit, and is starting to doubt what he does more than ever. Hopefully, it’s the darkest before the dawn and that Matt Murdock could eventually find happiness.
