Are you living in Hell’s Kitchen? Are you having a hard time finding affordable housing? Well, look no further, because there’s an amazing loft that’s just been posted on Craigslist that’s probably just what you’re looking for — and it’s only going for $2,000/month!

Okay, yeah, this is nothing but a clever piece of marketing from the folks over at Netflix, but man does it work well. Of course, as expected, the post features plenty of wonderful shots of the open floor plan, one that any tenant would be proud to live in, but that’s not even the most clever part. The most clever part is literally every damn sentence of the ad, starting with the title:

“$2000 / 1br – Converted Warehouse Loft Apt. in Hell’s Kitchen with Major Character (Midtown West)”

If you’re a comic fan, chances are the words “Hell’s Kitchen” and “Major Character” jump out immediately, and it doesn’t take a lot of imagination to start picturing good ol’ Matt Murdock. The ad goes on to discuss the “recent tremors” which left the loft unscathed. They urge you to “Marvel” at the industrial windows” and mention that the previous tenant (one Matt Murdock) left without notice. Hm…

Of course, they have to mention the boxing gym, courthouse, and law offices that are all in walking distance, but the clincher here is “With an apartment this nice, you’ll feel like you’re living a double life.”

Well done, Marvel and Netflix. Well done.
