Dave Bautista Backpedals A Bit On Threats To Quit Guardians, But He’s Still Angry

The fallout from James Gunn’s sacking by Disney for inappropriate tweets from his past continues to dominate the news. After the cast of the Guardians of the Galaxy movies wrote an open letter asking for Gunn to be reinstated, Bautista went one further and suggested he may quit the franchise if Gunn’s script wasn’t used.

However, in a more recent post on Twitter, Bautista appears to back down a little from that previous stance. You can see his post below, and while Bautista here mentions his legal obligations, he still seems mightily angry about the whole situation.

To be honest, given the language used here, I think Bautista has to be a little careful so he doesn’t push the Mouse to actually remove him from the franchise. Here Bautista basically accuses Disney of empowering neo-Nazis.  I’m not sure if Disney will take kindly to those words, whether you fans agree with the sentiment or not is another story. Perhaps this is a part of Bautista’s exit strategy? Or perhaps Bautista’s passionate response to the situation is just his emotions getting the better of him?

We will have to wait and see how this situation develops further as time goes on. Will Disney announce their intentions regarding Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 script? Will they choose a new director for the project, and would anyone want the job now? Or could the unthinkable happen and Disney reinstate Gunn in some kind of capacity? At this point, anything seems possible and we will share any further information as soon as we get it.
