Dave Bautista Joins Film Based On The Comic Book Body Bags

Dave Bautista is everywhere these days and it’s great!

After his breakthrough role in Guardians of the Galaxy, Bautista was not only in Avengers: Infinity War, but also other major franchises and films like SPECTRE, Blade Runner 2049, and next week’s Hotel Artemis.

Well, the Bautista fun won’t stop at the Hotel, kids. Deadline reports that Dave Bautista just joined the film Dogtown, based on the long-running comic book series Body Bags.

Dogtown is being written by Kyle Ward (John Wick 2), based on the aforementioned comic created by Jason Pearson (Deadpool, X-Men).

Buatista plays Mack Delgado, a bounty hunter so tough he is called a “body bagger.” When a teenage daughter he didn’t know turns up on his doorstep hoping to reconnect with a father she lost long ago, it turns his life upside down. Hi-jinks ensue in what is being called “a stylized, irreverent action comedy.”

Bold Films’  — one of the production companies involved — chairman Michael Litvak had this to say:

Dogtown will bring Bold’s style of edgy, auteur-driven filmmaking into the comic book genre. Dave Bautista’s mixture of extraordinary action skills, comedic talent and warmth makes him the perfect choice to embody Mack Delgado.”
