Alright stop. Ok, I’ll stop, I promise that was the last one. Yes as the title says actor Dave Franco is Vanilla Ice, or he will be soon. The actor is set to take on the role of early 90s rapper whose real name is Rob Van Winkle. The film is written by Phillip Van and Chris Goodwin. Speaking with Insider, Franco confirmed the film is finally moving forward. You can check out what he had to say below.
“We have been in development for a while but we are inching closer and closer to preproduction,”

Franco has been having phone conversations with Van Winkle in preparation for the role. Franco says Van Winkle has been obliging through the process.
“Rob is such a sweet and intelligent guy and he’s been super helpful in the process of getting all the details correct and making us privy to information the public doesn’t know. Just talking to him I can’t help but think about the rabbit holes I’m going to go down to get ready for the role.”
Of course I’ve heard the song. Wow, was it overplayed. Nearly every school function, be it a pep rally, school dance, or halftimes at the games,
However, I did enjoy Vanilla Ice appearing in a Bloodhound Gang song, I much prefer his performance there as opposed to ‘Ice Ice Baby.’ Yeah, it’s hard to argue that the song’s bassline is stolen from the Queen song, ‘Under Pressure,’ though that didn’t stop Vanilla Ice from trying, as you can see below.
I’m not trying to pick on the guy, he seems a good sport to poke fun at himself. Even in the video above it seems he can barely contain his laughter when explaining the differences between the songs.
