Since the start of DC’s relaunch called Rebirth, comic book fans have been waiting for the event that would eventually bring the Watchmen to the DC Universe for the first time. We wanted to see Dr. Manhattan was involved. Last year we found out that that event would be called Doomsday Clock, and that it would be written by Geoff Johns and with artwork by Gary Frank. The first issue was released in November with and was scheduled to be released once a month. But unfortunately that timeline has changed, and this is one we can’t blame on Barry Allen.
Via Twitter yesterday, Geoff Johns made this announcement:
A HUGE HUGE thank you for your patience with @1moreGaryFrank and I. We're shifting #DoomsdayClock to bi-monthly. I know how disappointing that is, truly. We are trying to do our best work with 32 pages an issue and going down to 20 pages a month was not an option for us. (1/2)

We hope we'll go back to monthly at some point, but bi-monthly is guaranteed. We'd rather tell you when it's coming out than just be late. Again, THANK YOU to the readers and retailers and apologies. I hope we're delivering a story that's worth your time, money & patience! (2/2)

If you have been keeping up with the series, you know that it’s dialogue-heavy like the original Watchman book and that Frank’s artwork has been fantastic. With Johns being the DC Entertainment President and Chief Creative Officer and not to mention this being the title that is supposed to explain why Dr. Manhattan did what he did, it’s not surprising that this book would hit some delays.
Rebirth was a result of a lot of DC Comics fans being upset with the path that a lot of legacy characters took during Rebirth, especially with Wally West and Superman. DC Comics realized that they had made a mistake and owned up to it. Their way of explaining it and fixing it would be to make the New 52 part of a bigger story. Someone had stolen 10 years away from the DC Universe and that someone was Dr. Manhattan. This would lead to the special one-shot issue called DC Universe Rebirth #1, then The Button arc that was in Batman #21 & #22 as well as Flash #21 & #22 and now the major event Doomsday Clock.
It is very disappointing as a DC fan to hear that there is going to be a delay, as a book like this could easily lose a lot of momentum like Forever Evil did a couple years back. Still, Johns mentioned that they will try to go back to monthly soon, but I highly doubt that.
