While the reported downsizing of the first season from 13 episodes to 10 was a bit disheartening, I’m not sure many of us expected DC Universe to cancel Swamp Thing after airing its first episode. In the wake of other rumors of them reconsidering the future of the streaming service as a whole, it certainly does appear to be one hell of a red flag. But what is the future of the DC Universe app? Can we expect it to disappear any time soon?
Sadly, the future of the streaming service is unclear. We don’t know the numbers it’s getting apart from a few rumors, so it’s incredibly hard to gauge. That being said, there are a few different possibilities out there, courtesy of some THR sources.

According to them, it is possible that DC Universe could ultimately be folded into WarnerMedia’s upcoming streaming service. As of right now, we have few details about that service, but with a billion different streaming platforms set to come out over the next couple of years, it would make sense to bring all of WarnerMedia’s content under one roof. And WarnerMedia knows it, which is why there will be bundled content from HBO, TNT, TBS, as well as their TV studio.
It’s worth reiterating though that nothing is decided. it could be folded into the new service, but it can also stand on its own, or be used in a completely different way altogether.
