DC Universe: There Is No Mandate To Link Titans And Swamp Thing In A Shared Universe

We all love a good shared universe, don’t we? Whenever a superhero film or TV show starts out, we can’t help but wonder whether or not it will be just one cog in a bigger universe. This is especially true when it comes to DC TV shows on The CW, or anything created by Greg Berlanti. And speaking of Berlanti, the man has Titans headed to DC Universe very soon.

With that show nearly hear, and Swamp Thing coming much later, you can’t help but wonder whether or not they too will share a universe. Speaking with /Film, Swamp Thing writer Gary Dauberman shared whether or not they planned to have the shows connect down the line:

“I think the opportunity is there if we want to but it’s not mandated. I think we could if, in the future, it organically works itself out to be that way. I haven’t discussed that with the guys from Titans and they haven’t discussed it with us.”

So, I guess it’s best to think about this like Black Lightning. While there is a possibility that the show could link up to the Arrowverse, they’re working to make sure it stands alone, first and foremost, which I think is the right way to go.
