DC Weekly: DC FanDome Explore The Multiverse Preview!

Man… time flys when your having fun right? It seems like the first day of DC FanDome: Hall of Heroes was just a couple of days ago. This weekend we are being treated to the second day they are calling DC FanDome: Explore the Multiverse. What is going to make this 24 hours of content different from the first go-round is that from 10 am PST on Saturday, you will be able to explore all corners of Multiverse’s content at your own pace. So ahead of that, I wanted to share with you what panels, videos, and activities that I’m looking forward to seeing.

WatchVerse

First, let’s go through some of the things in the WatchVerse that I plan on watching. First off, I am very excited to see what we can expect from some of my favorite DC television series. Specifically series like Black Lightning, Supergirl, Doom Patrol, Pennyworth, and Stargirl. A highlight will probably be the Batwoman presentation as I expect that we are going to get our first look at Javicia Leslie in the Bat-suit. The Superman & Lois panel is going to be interesting as I am still not sold that this series is going to work. But hopefully, I am wrong and I will be pleasantly surprised.

The comic book panels they are going to feature will highlight stories and books that have been doing very well or are very anticipated. For example, you can check out Batman: The Joker War! that is currently happening in the pages of Batman by James Tynion IV. Also, we can get an insight on Batman: Three Jokers, which if you caught my column two weeks ago I feel took too long to come out. A fun one maybe with Tom Taylor as he and others talk DCeased, which has been great. If there are any Watchmen fans you can check out The Expansion of DC’s Watchmen Universe panel with Tom King. Always remember that nothing that comes out of the DC Universe would be possible without the comics.

There are some great animated film presentations also taking place. DC’s Superman: Man of Tomorrow will feature a panel and a world premiere presentation. We will also learn more about the interactive animated DC film, Batman: Death in the Family. There is also a cool documentary on Jim Lee titled, Creating Heroes: The Life and Art of Jim Lee, that will be screened. My last highlight from the Watchverse is the I’m Latinx, What’s Your Superpower? panel that will be hosted by Diane Guerrero. How man hours is that already?

InsiderVerse

Saying there is a lot of content in the Insiderverse of DC FanDome: Explore the Multiverse is an understatement. There is a lot of behinds the scenes looks into your favorite shows and films. One interesting set of presentations are with DC comic book artists around the world, like Emanuela Lupaccino, Mikel Janin, Amanda Conner, and Jamal Campbell to name a few. They will be sketching and telling their stories on how they broke into comics.

There will also be some cool presentations like one on the latest Batmobile from Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. Also a feature on Bob Kane, one of the creators of Batman. Then for any comic book fans looking to get into grading book, you can tune into the Collecting the Grades presentation that should be full of helpful tips!

YouVerse

This section is full of all kinds of fun presentations that are usually best enjoyed live. For example, there will be several celebrations of individual and group cosplayers, DC Pets, DC tattoos, and much more. Then watch your favorite DC stars from films and television shows answer questions from fans. Again lots and lots of content!

Funverse

This section is also going to be a lot of fun as you will be able to virtually ride a bunch of DC branded rides from around the world. There will also be trivia and a comic book reader with a wide selection of digital books to enjoy. There will also be some freebies to download in this section. Including DC TV character posters, video backgrounds, video games, and wallpapers. I will be taking full advantage! Something else that I will try out will be The Joker’s Escape Room.

Looks like I will have a full plate of DC content on Saturday! It’s also important to note that if you wanted to relive or if you missed any of the Hall of Heroes panels, they will also be available on demand. Make sure to go through the schedule today to make sure you get to take full advantage of DC FanDome: Explore the Multiverse! What will be on your schedule? Let us know in the comment section below! Now let’s wrap this up with my top three comic books for this week.
