DC’s Titans: April Bowlby Cast As Elasti-Girl

Lots of news lately coming from the live-action series titled Titans, which will be exclusive to the yet to be named DC Entertainment’s digital platform. Which will feature the leader Dick Grayson, played by Brenton Thwaites, Starfire played by Anna Diop, and Raven played by Teagan Croft.

Some of the latest news that we had gotten came from executive producer where he revealed via Twitter the inclusion of the Doom Patrol in the series. Followed by the announcement of actor Bruno Bichir playing Niles Caulder a.k.a. the Chief, the leader of the Doom Patrol.

Now thanks to a report from Entertainment Weekly we know that Drop Dead Diva actress April Bowlby will be playing the part of Rita Farr a.k.a. Elasti-Girl one of the original members of the Doom Patrol.

Rita Farr was an actress who was exposed to a toxic volcanic gas that changed her cellular structure that allowed her to grow or shrink her body. She was considered a freak and a threat that ruined her Hollywood career. She was then taken in by the Chief and became a member of the Doom Patrol. She was created by writers Arnold Drake and Bob Haney with artist Bruno Premiani in DC Comics’ My Greatest Adventures #80 – The Doom Patrol.

Bowlby will appear in Paramount Networks’ Heathers before her appearance in Titans episode 5 titled “The Doom Patrol”. It is unknown at the time if she will have a recurring role in the season.

It is going to be interesting to see if the other members of the Doom Patrol which include Robotman and Negative Man. We’ll find out soon enough.
